At a meeting on the 29th September, 2011 the governing body took the unanimous decision that Hungerhill School should convert to academy status by April 2012. This followed a full consideration of responses to the consultation.

A range of stakeholders were consulted, including pupils, parents, staff, trades unions, the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership and other members of the local community. Responses to the consultation included questions regarding funding, provision of services, sixth form, curriculum, impact on the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust and uniform. A full copy of the document entitled “Frequently asked questions/concerns from the Hungerhill School community, with responses” is available to view or download on this page.

An application was submitted to the Department of Education and an Academy Order has since been issued meaning that the school will become an academy by the 1st April 2012.
