This year the school has launched a new resource for parents called a Parents Portal. This is being used to allow parents to have access to information about their son or daughter. Over the year this has been rolled out to a year group at a time, with the final year group being parents of Year 7 pupils in June.

Each parent is given a user name and password to gain access to the school’s data system. Parents can see information concerning their child’s attendance, timetable, and homework. The main purpose initially is to provide electronic access to all the reports and subject review grades being produced. It is possible for parents to open and download past and current reports. Alongside this we are also providing information about the targets that have been set for pupils and whether they are meeting these targets.

Over the coming year it is hoped to develop the parent’s portal to provide more information and support for parents. We know that, for all parents, their children’s education is extremely important, but many do not have as much information as they would like. We hope this service will help improve the quality and frequency of information sent to parents.
