Chateau du Broutel, France Trip

For the past nineteen years, we have taken students from Year 8 on a language/activity trip to France, which has always been a great success.

Chateau du Broutel is located on the outskirts of the small town of Rue, in the Somme region of Northern France. It is a converted Chateau, built in the early eighteenth century, which has been modernised but stills retains some of its historic charm. The Chateau provides accommodation in rooms catering for five to eight students, and there is a range of outdoor activities based on-site, and places of local interest to visit.

During the trip you will enjoy the following activities:

  • shopping in the local town of Rue
  • outdoor activities on the grounds of the Chateau, such as abseiling, climbing, team building etc.
  • visit to the underground war museum at Albert
  • visit to Newfoundland Park to visit the trenches
  • You will witness the Thiepval Memorial to the missing of the Somme.
  • visit a chocolate factory
  • visit a hypermarket

Please note that all activities are subject to change and may also be subject to availability, opening times, and weather

The details above can change from year to year. For accurate information, always refer to the trip letters that are available from the school or via our website.
