Hungerhill School is proud to be able to offer a wide and varied selection of enrichment opportunities for our students. This is part of a structured enrichment programme that started in September 2014. At Hungerhill, we believe that the curriculum should support the development of the whole child. This is why we have established weekly enrichment lessons for Years 7, 8, 9 and 10, along with three full enrichment days for all year groups. The enrichment days have a themed approach and are cross curricular, so students have the chance to experience a wide variety of events and activities centred around a theme. The weekly enrichment lessons allow students to choose activities as wide ranging as programming for games, knitting club, and Zentangle, amongst others. This exciting initiative ensures that our students are inspired to learn outside of the classroom and develop the skills required for the world beyond their secondary education. Our enrichment curriculum therefore aims to extend opportunities for all students and create memorable experiences to complement our excellent academic results.
The team leading the enrichment programme is made up of:
- Mrs S Davies - Joint Head of Enrichment
- Mrs E Barlow - Joint Head of Enrichment
- Miss A Cross - Coordinator of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
For more information about the activities available, please feel free to look at our latest Enrichment Choices book, available below. Also, check the 'News & Events' page for the survey link that will allow students to choose their Enrichment clubs for the Summer term.
