Meeting Dates 2024-25

Sam is a Manager at KPMG delivering advisory services focussed on providing best in class corporate excellence and controls to world leading clients. Sam manages delivers strategic delivery and transformation projects, helping clients achieve their outcomes greener, faster, cheaper and better. His varied project and change management experience will be put to good use in assessing and supporting the school’s current practices, alongside challenging where improvements could be made. Sam is a Chartered Member of the Association of Project Managers (ChPP MAPM).

Sam is also a non-executive director for England Boxing, working across the national governing body for boxing to achieve the organisation’s strategic goals. Sam also supports the organisation as a referee and judge and works to provide support to disadvantaged children through his coaching at Doncaster Plantworks amateur boxing club.

Sam looks forward to applying his skill, knowledge and experience to complement the existing board in enhancing the quality of education at Hungerhill School

Carlene Holden has been a Parent Governor at the school since October 2020 and currently has one child at the school. Carlene is the Deputy Director of Human Resources and Learning at Holly Lodge, Tickhill Road Hospital Site.

Carlene has extensive experience in Human Resources and feels that she can bring this to the Board of Governors.
 

Joel is the Deputy Lead Teacher of Mathematics at McAuley Catholic High School. 

He believes that he has a wealth of experience that would benefit any school governance trust.  He has a very good knowledge of data handling, and having worked in retail banking before becoming a teacher, he believes he has a good knowledge of finance. 

I feel that I have a great deal to offer both Hungerhill and the Trust.

I am passionate about education. I am an experienced Primary leader and want to further extend my knowledge and experience. I also want to support my local community (I live in Barnby Dun, having lived in Edenthorpe for the previous 10 years).

I am honest, professional, enthusiastic, and a good team player. I am willing to learn, like asking questions and always offer loyal support.

Nigel is the Director of IT and Analytics at DHU Healthcare CIC. He has significant experience of complex HR matters. Nigel is a Board Member of Circa and will use this experise to compliment the Local Governing Board. 

 I am excited about the opportunity to leverage my ITT expertise and teaching experience to contribute to the success of the governance at Hungerhill School. 

With over seven years of experience in delivering teacher training to a diverse range of individuals, including ITTs, ECTs and established teachers through whole trust CPD programmes, I have honed my skills in facilitating impactful and engaging learning experiences. My passion for supporting the growth and development of teachers, coupled with my in-depth knowledge of research based pedagogical practices and instructional strategies, enables me to create dynamic and enriching training sessions that empower teachers to excel in their roles. 

My commitment to improving standards in education is most rewarded through the work I do within my role of ITT lead; I have a deep understanding of the DFE requirements for curriculum development and research-based practice within the teacher training framework, allowing me to design training programmes that align with current educational standards and best practices. Additionally, as a reflective practitioner, I continuously evaluate and improve my training methods to meet the evolving needs of trainee teachers and enhance the overall learning experience. Watching trainee teachers thrive, progress and overcome challenges throughout their ITT year gives me faith that the teaching profession will continue to evolve in a dynamic and organic way.

I have proven impact from the programmes I have written and delivered; 90% (on average) of trainees have passed the course and were able to competently find employment to complete their ECT year. Ofsted also praised the quality of the provision I provide in a recent inspection of the Sheffield SCITT.

Last year, I was able to contribute to the wider community through the KS4 English school improvement training I delivered at the Education Exchange. Through this I was able to, not only help English teachers better the understand the requirements of the GCSE examinations, but to also help facilitate their independence in creating a robust and well purposed curriculum for KS4 students. 

Having worked in a department that attains some of the best English results in Doncaster, and my own results reflecting some of the best in the school, I believe that I can bring valuable insight to the governing body.
