School's Christmas concert brings festive cheer to Doncaster charity shop

The spirit of Christmas was alive and well thanks to a heartwarming series of performances by talented students at a Doncaster charity shop.

Hungerhill School’s budding musicians, vocalists and performers took to the stage at The Hanger ahead of Christmas, delighting the public with a festive showcase of Christmas classics and a variety of musical numbers.

The event, which was part of the school’s annual holiday celebrations, featured performances from a range of musical talents.

Students brought joy to the crowd with renditions of timeless Christmas songs, along with special musical performances on the saxophone plus a stunning performance by the BFLPT Signing Choir, which brought a unique and heartfelt element to the festivities, celebrating the inclusivity and spirit of the season.

Shoppers and visitors to The Hangar couldn’t help but join in the Christmas cheer, clapping, singing along, and embracing the festive atmosphere that filled the air.

The event was a beautiful reminder of the joy and community spirit that the holiday season brings to Doncaster.

This festive excitement continued with the annual Christmas Concert held at the Edenthorpe school.

The concert, which took place shortly after the public performance, was a spectacular showcase of talent from both primary and secondary students.

The sell-out event featured a wide range of performances, including a breathtaking woodwind section, a lively set from the Trust Band, talented soloists and duets, and another spectacular performance by the BFLPT Signing Choir.

The crowd was also treated to an energetic and dynamic performance by the Atomic Dance Troop, whose choreography had the audience tapping their feet and clapping along to the rhythm. The concert was a true reflection of the hard work and dedication of the students involved and provided a perfect end to a day filled with festive cheer.

Under the expert direction of Miss Crowder, the Curriculum Leader of Performing Arts at Hungerhill School, these performances highlighted the immense talent of the school’s students and their ability to bring people together through music and performance. Her guidance ensured that the event ran smoothly and that every student had the opportunity to shine.

“It’s always a pleasure to see our students showcasing their talent, and this event is a fantastic way to celebrate the season,” said Miss Crowder. “I’m incredibly proud of all our performers, and it’s wonderful to see the community come together to enjoy the festivities.”

As well as the Christmas shows and presentations, Hungerhill School is proud to present its exciting and exhilarating 2026 production of Beauty and the Beast Jr, a spectacular theatrical event not to be missed.
