Alicia Turner
After leaving Hungerhill in 2013, I completed ICT, Media and Business A Levels.
During my A Levels, I realised that I loved both Business and ICT. Therefore, I embarked on a four-year Business and ICT degree at Sheffield Hallam University, allowing me to take a year out in industry, whilst being paid.
I was fortunate to secure a placement with the UK's largest rail freight services provider. My role ranged from Application Support Analyst to Project Manager and QA Test Analyst. This proved to be an amazing opportunity and taught me so much about the industry.
During my time at university, I was the Business and ICT Course Representative, I was also elected as the President of the 'Women in IT Society' and recently graduated with a first class degree.
I continued working one day a week for the company during my final year and have now taken up a permanent role. I will soon be travelling to Prague to represent Great Britain in the Railsport Games for Badminton.
I have great memories of my time at Hungerhill. The support and encouragement I received there gave me a strong foundation for my future.
