Emily Monk
I attended Hungerhill School from 2005-2010.
From a very early age, I have had my heart set on a career in Performing Arts, and I was very involved with many school performances during my time at Hungerhill. My drama teacher at the time was Mrs Pond, and under her guidance and perseverance I gained confidence in my own acting abilities and I went on to achieve an A* in GCSE Drama.
After leaving Hungerhill, I went on to study for AS Levels in Drama, English Literature, and Photography at John Leggott College. My original intention was to complete two years at John Leggott, but in April 2011 I was awarded a full scholarship to attend the very prestigious Performing Arts College, Laine Theatre Arts, in London.
I will graduate from Laine on 4th July 2014, having successfully completed a Level 6 Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre and Dance. I have already been lucky enough to secure myself a five month contract performing on the Norwegian Spirit Cruise Liner, one of the Norwegian Cruise Line vessels. I will meet the vessel in Istanbul as it cruises the Mediterranean, before hopefully setting off to the Caribbean in late Autumn.
I consider myself to be extremely lucky that my passion, which was nurtured and encouraged during my time at Hungerhill, is now also my career.
